INNERTALES is one of the Trance projects that includes Philippe van Mullem, who died in 2015, as well as Philippe Toutlemonde aka PhiPhi. In 1994, their album was released on a CD. Innertales album consists of 7 tracks released in the Hard Times Recordings label. The six tracks were also included on two vinyl releases as Part One and Part Two.
This project showcases a range of styles from ambient to trance which is a testament to the artistic skills this duo exuded. "At the Bottom of the Himalaya" is the perfect way to start this album. It perfectly captures the atmosphere of the Himalayas. It builds with each passing minute, providing a wonderful delight for the ears. It guarantees to transport you on a magical journey of sounds throughout the album. I love this melody, which brings solace, peace, and harmony. One of my favorite tracks on this release. "Voice of Sirens" is my favorite on this CD.
It's a total flight into space with elements reminiscent of bird sounds. This is true trance at its best. Listening to this melody, I feel like I'm flying among the stars. It's a wonderful feeling of the imagination that trance music can lead to. "Dreaming Through Your Eyes" is perfect for relaxing, when you close your eyes and feel total relaxation. The bass accelerates your heartbeat. The vocal elements here are a perfect combination with the swelling music. Another track guaranteeing a great melody that's also perfect for a car journey. "Escaped From Bad Influence" captivates with its pristine soundscape. Drums and bells create a pleasant effect. It's a peaceful journey through almost eight minutes of solid trance. I love this kind of atmosphere in music. It transports you to another world, where only positive thinking reigns.
The piano elements are a testament to this. It's a ride that builds towards the end, where the best is already behind us. The final track is "Quiet Vision." It's a continuation of the keyboard sounds from the previous track. It's a perfect culmination of the story that flowed like a river on this incredible CD. I have no doubt that this album should be included in the collection of every trance, progressive trance, and ambient music listener. Gentlemen created together such aliases as Quadran, Dobel You, Honey C and The Gaps.
