C-Systems (Five Questions with...) Exclusive Interview & Guest Mix
C-Systems is a Norwegian-English duo of Akki Hisham and Matt Allen. They often collaborate with the Norwegian singer Hanna Finsen. They have released on labels such as A State Of Trance, Raz Nitzan Music, Digital Society Recordings, Pure Trance and many more. Matt shared some information about the collaboration. I invite you to an interview conducted only for Visions Of Trance.
1. What are your goals in producing trance music?
We've always had the same goal, to bring melodic-centered and high quality Trance music to the world! As musicians, we want to ensure all our productions are of a high standard at all times. Trance champions everything great about dance music and we must continue to support the genre.
2. Who and/or what was your inspiration to start producing trance music?
It's probably a similar answer for many, but Armin Van Buuren and Ferry Corsten! They are true legends of trance and responsible for some of the biggest Trance tracks in existence. To now be working closely with Armada is simultaneously surreal and unbelievably exciting. What a journey!
3. Which song are you most proud of and why?
Being asked to remix "It's My Turn" by Angelic will forever be one of our proudest moments. We are so happy with the remix and love the end result. The original was a real anthem when we first started listening to trance, so this opportunity was incredible.
4. What inspires you to create trance music?
Across dance music, Trance allows us the most opportunities to write the melodies we want in the way that we want. Trance has so many sub genres that the possibilities are endless. For us, evoking emotion through our music is really important and knowing listeners feel something special here is a real inspiration.
5. What hardware and software do you use to create trance music?
Cubase! We are huge champions of the platform and we love it! Akki has a ton of hardware synths too, but without a doubt one of the most important pieces of hardware we both have are our electric pianos. This is where the music writing happens, straight in to the DAW.
