Cold Blue (Five Questions with...) Exclusive Interview

Cold Blue is a well-known producer on the German and world trance music scene. He has released on labels such as Anjunabeats, Monster Tunes, Future Sound of Egypt, Black Hole Recordings, Subculture and many others. Tobias shared relevant information about his work. I invite you to read the interview conducted only for VISIONS OF TRANCE.

1. What are your goals in producing trance music?

I suppose the ultimate goal is to let out what is inside of me, in terms of emotions and experiences. Things that are too complex and colourful to be expressed in words need to find their way into sounds and melodies. When I'm writing music, I usually keep changing things again and again until the music strongly resonates with how I feel inside. I think all the other goals like trying to be as successfull as possible are secondary. But the ego is always plays a little part of everything, of course. :)

2. Who was your inspiration to start producing trance music?

German artists like Blank & Jones, Kai Tracid, Dumonde inspired me in the early days and then later on Airbase, Ace da Brain, Ferry Corsten, aaand so on. :)

3. Which song are you most proud of and why?

There are quite a few I guess, like the whole Winter album in its entirety. There are many new tracks in the making that I probably feel even more proud of than the old ones. Rush should be named too, I guess. :)

4. What inspires you to create trance music?

Life! Every experience, every day. The more "new" experience I make, the more I learn about myself and about my relationship to the world and other people, the more I feel creative and want to turn all that into music.
