In 2005, Menno de Jong released a piece considered by many to be his greatest work. Of course, I am talking about the production of "Tundra" by Intuition Recordings. Thanks to his melodic and trance notes, Menno managed to win the favor of the world's leading DJs and it was in their sets that he was promoted to the rising star of this period.
What's interesting about big publishing houses is the fact that the original version was not on the vinyl. This is a huge surprise. Why is this the case? To this day, I cannot find the answer to that. This is one of the best releases from the legendary Dutch producer.
On the A-side vinyl, we get the Fierce Dub version, which is included in many mixes and sets. Mark Otten, on the other hand, is responsible for the B side. In my opinion, the Fierce Dub version has its advantage, but despite this comparison, it will always be remembered that the omission of the original version from this release is a great misunderstanding. Many fans of this production hold it against the label for giving up the basic version, which should be a must for vinyl. Certainly, each of you has your favorite version. This track reminds me of my college days. It accompanied me quite often. The main melody is very emotional. It's wonderful for an evening stroll at sunset. It's sure to bring tears to even the toughest of souls. It will forever remain on my list of trance classics. Even if the original version isn't available on vinyl, it's worth checking out the others to experience the power of this release.
