"Mainlining" by Union Jack (Simon Berry and Paul Brogden) is one of the best tracks by the English band. 


It appears on the album "Pylon Pigs," which was released on CD in 2009 by Platipus Records. 


It begins with the words of an announcer at a French train station. As you might guess, she's announcing that a train is about to depart. With every passing second, you can feel the atmosphere of a heavy vehicle traveling along the tracks. For seven minutes, you feel like you're on a long journey to an unknown destination. Where no other vehicle can reach, certainly not at such a pace. It's a stunning melody that's deeply relaxing. Its ending heralds the train's arrival at the end of its journey, accompanied by the announcer's words. This track is a beloved part of the Union Jack legacy, known for its hypnotic rhythms and classic sound that defined that era. An absolute classic from the British record label's extensive catalog.
