"Carte Blanche" by Veracocha has been a staple of trance music for over 20 years. Veracocha is the exciting combination of two legendary producers: Ferry Corsten and Vincent De Moor. The two met at a convention.
The track was created in 1998, but was first released on vinyl in 1999 on Deal Records. Of course, it appears in various versions on many record labels. It's one of the most incredible trance tunes ever created. It's the perfect example of why I can say I love trance music!
The melody is simply incredible. The synths blend perfectly. The synth circuit is brilliant, making it flow like a river of time. It takes me to another space. The main riff was invented by Ferry by accident while tinkering with a Roland JP-8000 keyboard. Vincent heard the melody from the next room while taking a cigarette break and shouted at Ferry to "play it again."
This classic has been remixed many times. However, the original version has a certain magic that keeps me coming back to this track again and again. It's safe to say that 1999 was the golden age of trance music. On the other side of the vinyl is "Drafting." It's a completely different composition, far from the spotlight and all the magic that would make it an anthem. This track is a solid piece, but it can't compare to its predecessor in any way. It rarely appears in DJ sets. Vinyl is a must-have for fans of old-school sounds.
