There are songs that remain unforgettable for eternity. There are artists who, despite the fact that they are no longer alive, their music remains in the heart of a specific group of fans. John Horrocks aka Jon Vesta is a trance producer who created some nice songs during his short life, but made his place in history with a song called "Gull". 


"NICE ONE BROTHER! I SAID: NICE ONE !!!" Could you ask for a better recommendation? The iconic line made by Pete Tong during Paul Oakenfold's Gatecrasher set in 1999 says it all. One of the total classics of progressive trance. Yes, progressive trance used to mean almost only slow bpm, deep bassline and, unfortunately, often monotonous construction. "Gull" is an emotional track with a distinctly melancholic and sad intro. A very promising producer at the time made quite a stir with this piece. Unfortunately, the mood of this composition seems to reflect the artist's emotional state at the time, who unfortunately committed suicide in 2001 ... Today, despite exceptionally promising compositions, it is almost forgotten. However, 25 years ago, EPs were released by the Stonehouse Records company he runs, which contributed to the success of progressive trance at that time, often with anthemic and epic character. One of the greatest trance tracks. It's hard to put into words how good the production is. 

These are amazing emotions. Regardless of musical beliefs, it would be difficult to find someone unmoved by this piece. Often times when you hear a melody you think that this or that can be improved, but this piece is completely flawless. There is nothing to change about it. It's a shame John died so young. He was a tremendous talent and the said piece is his legacy. It must be added that this vinyl has another great piece called "Bluestone". The piece may not be as perfect as its predecessor, but it also has its listeners to this day. For me, it is also a great melody worth coming back to. It is a Trance diamond in the work of this producer. One can only regret that this artist is no longer among us. Summing up, it should be said that this release deserves great recognition and cannot be forgotten.
