James shared his journey in trance music with us. We thank him for his time and invite you to read this interview, conducted exclusively for Visions Of Trance. 1. What is trance music to you? Trance is a journey of emotion. Being transported away from daily worries, feeling a sense of freedom, connecting with a story told by the composer, these are amazing things to enjoy. 2. How do you perceive the state of the current trance music scene? Divided! But this is not necessarily a bad thing. We are all looking for our tribe in a saturated landscape. For me, I have always been about creating the scene I want to be a part of. As a relatively new artist I see no benefit in c...

Sunbeam 🇩🇪 - Outside World E.P. (1994) [Suck Me Plasma] https://www.discogs.com/master/47883-Sunbeam-Outside-World-EP Official Video 📹 Original Mix 🎧 La Musique (C'est Notre Drogue) 🎧 Smoke 🎧 🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊 I first discovered the Sunbeam project (Florian Preis and Michael Gerlach) in 1994 upon the release of the track "Outside World."  I remember watching its music video quite often; back then—in the mid-90s—it was frequently aired on the German channel VIVA. They were, in fact, the first duo to truly capture my trance-loving soul. They composed a legendary track, with the final production handled by the guys from Komakino (Detlef Hastik and Ralph Fritsch). It features an incredible melody that blends Trance and Hard Trance styles. The vinyl release from Suck Me Plasma also included two other interesting tracks.  "La Musique (C'est Notre Drogue)" is another cool number—admittedly overshadowed by the release's title track, but st...

Leander shared his thoughts on trance music with us. We invite you to read this interview, conducted exclusively for Visions Of Trance. 1. What is trance music to you? A means of colouring and escaping the real world around me. Music and by extension art cannot change the world directly I believe, but it can soften it. Make it more beautiful. And Trance very much does that for me.      2. How do you perceive the state of the ...

Sasha 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 ‎– Arkham Asylum / Ohmna (Vinyl, 1996)[Deconstruction] https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/98072?ev=rb&page=2#other_versions_wrap 🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊 Arkham Asylum 🎧 Ohmna 🎧 🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊 Welsh legend Alexander Cloe aka Sasha in his work often balanced on the border of Progressive House and Progressive Trance music. This is exactly what he communicates in the form of his vinyl with two fantastic productions. "Arkham Asylum" and "Ohmna" were released in 1996 by Deconstruction.  Very high quality music. Two tracks lasting more than 28 minutes are certainly a shock to many people listening to music on vinyl records. It doesn't often happen that the pieces are so long. Listening to their melodies is an extended journey through unusual sounds. Sasha has always been able to get the best out of progressive electronic music. The first position starts quite easy for 3 minutes. Then the amazing performance begins. Music ...

Jurgen Leyers and Laurent Veronnez were at the Bonzai Truck during the Love Parade in Berlin in 1997. During the long bus journey from Antwerp to Berlin, they started talking about music. Jurgen was already part of a project called Energy Source at that time.  Laurent, on the other hand, started some successful projects that Jurgen liked very much. So one led to the other and a few months later they were already in the studio producing "Lost Emotions". There was no end to it. I want to draw your attention to the song "My Galaxy", which was released on the XTC label in 1999. This fa...
