The trance connoisseur, Thomas Datt, needs no introduction. His discography is full of high-quality releases and a surprising amount of remixes. It should be added that it has many tracks that in their original form go beyond the trance genre. However, in 2003, he brought one of the top songs to the trance scene, which was released a year later. "2V2" was released on vinyl on Discover Records.
Contains the original version of the Polish producer and a remix from John Askew. In my opinion, the Polish producer showed his enormous talent with the release of this piece. A great melody that stuck in my memory for many years. To this day, I love to reach for this piece because it gives me a lot of emotions with its quality. Datt has always been famous for great melodies. After many years, in one of the interviews, Thomas explained his feelings about this piece:
"It's no secret that I don't really like this song. Too much baggage stuck to it over the years, especially the original release. I don't want to take anyone's memories or feelings of nostalgia because they rightly belong to them. It really was something special back then, but since then I happily moved on."
The first home of this piece was to be Euphonic, of which the artist was a huge fan at the time. Being with this label was going to be an honor and it would shape his career in a completely different way. At one point it was so close to signing that Ralph called Thomas to talk about the piece. Kyau & Albert were going to do a remix. However, they showed it to some people and the reactions were mixed so they passed it on. The second was Lost Language. Ben Lost was very keen to sign it, but it is unknown what happened that they didn't move forward. In any case, the story ends with the promo CD going to John Askew, and then things turned out very positively. A confirmation is the fact that the British artist liked the track so much that he made a remix of it, which turned out quite well. However, it definitely did not come close to the original release.
Monster Force has released a vinyl with remixes by Askew and Robert Nickson. Robert Nickson has developed a massive remix. In it, all the power of dreamy trance is clearly recognizable. This remix flows like a long journey through space. On the dance floor, it is the perfect element of euphoric trance.
Later, other remixes of this classic were made: Rework Mix by the author of this release, remixes by Sean Tyas and RedStar. Surely everyone has their favorite version of this classic. A fantastic item every vinyl fan should have.
