Memories of Marino Stephano
25 years ago we lost a genius producer. Marino Stephano was killed in a car accident on the highway on his way to Antwerp to meet M.I.K.E. in a recording studio. The aim of the meeting was to cooperate with today's legendary artists. This tragedy left its mark on the trance music society. Many artists and his fans could not come to terms with it.
***A bad memory of my career is the disappearance of Marino Stephano, with whom I remixed "Dream Universe" and composed in particular "Happy Love" and "That's the Break." It is not easy to find the desire for 3,000 people to dance at a party when that same morning You've just buried one of your best friends, but that's a DJ job, no matter what his state of mind is.***
Anyway, it can be said that this fact is remembered by people who love his music to this day. Many miss this artist. Not much later, Dirk (later changed his name to Mike) Dierickx created the track "Till We Meet Again" under his alias Push in tribute to his deceased friend.
Some of you will know Marino as half C.M, others as half of the Zodiac, and many will know him simply from his solo pieces or other associations. It is necessary to add the successful cooperation with his brother Marino Massimo on the Marino Brothers project. A member of the legendary La Bush Team project. This guy had a great talent for making melodic trance tracks while being melancholic and blissful at the same time. My personal top five trance tracks of all time are for sure:
1.Marino Stephano - Eternal Rhapsody
2.Marino Stephano - Free Time
3.C.M - Dream Universe
4.Zodiac - Change
Incredible productions of "D-Mention", "Voices" and "Phases Pad" by Stephen Parker.

A fruitful collaboration with Stephane Peclow on the Parker & Clind project.

Of course, there are a few more that are considered his legendary works. Lots of interesting remixes. He strengthened my love for trance music a lot in the second half of the 90's. His works have always tended towards simplicity. However, an extremely high percentage of them remain timeless to this day. I still play his songs regularly, and given the very nature of trance music, that alone is a testament to the depth and quality of his work. He got the attention of the whole trance industry and his future looked very promising. He passed away at the best moment in his career. Despite the fact that he did not have time to release an album, he left behind a wide collection of music that is still in my heart. He's also in my top 10 trance producers of all time. An unprecedented legend. I can definitely say that it would be in the same place today as Mike Dierickx and Laurent Veronnez, and maybe even higher. However, I will not find out about it anymore ...
